Let’s Talk About CHOCOLATE….

Recently, I have been eating dark chocolate in the morning as part of my diet. I mentioned in my previous blog post that I am trying out a new low- carb diet called the “Breakfast Cure Diet”, where you can eat ANYTHING for breakfast, as long as you eat low-carbs for the rest of the day.
Women’s World magazine recently reported on a scientific study that found you can eat chocolate for breakfast and still lose weight. I have tried this now for a week and have noticed an extreme burst of energy just after consuming it. I also noticed that I was quite happy and was ready to tackle anything that came my way. With that said, I ate some chocolate before I did some exercise where I went up and down stairs (365 stairs x 6 reps to be exact). Halfway through I did feel a bit sick to my stomach. My advice would be that if you are going to exercise in the morning wait until after to eat your chocolate.
A study done at Denmark’s University of Copenhagen found that women who enjoyed 3.5 oz. of dark chocolate reported fewer cravings and ate 15 percent fewer calories over the next five hours. That’s likely thanks to the healthy monounsaturated fatty acids found in dark chocolate.
Also, in last month’s Woman’s World I read that cocoa, dark chocolate can stop cancer cells. The same antioxidant that gives red wine its cancer-fighting power is also in cocoa powder and dark chocolate. Several studies show that resveratrol stunts the growth of cancerous cells, then kills them before they can spread.
GGS bottom line: Go ahead and take in 1 oz. of cocoa or dark chocolate a day guilt free. Bon appetite!

Thanks for sharing! Actually, I maintain my weight with dark chocolate; the cocoa in acts as a natural appetite suppressant
Hi, I really love chocolate and I have to have it at least once a week.
There is something about chocolate that just makes you feel better.
my grandmother is from Haiti and when she travels there she brings back chocolate that’s pretty much in it’s raw state – you melt it add milk and cinnamin a little butter (i know) and it’s literally the best hot chocolate on earth – it’s creamy decadent and you can not have it a lot…

Sounds a little too good to be true – I would love to hear the end result of this experiment. Dk chocolate is def a fave of mine!
I am a chocoholic and dark chocolate is my preference (the darker and more bitter the better). I’ve tried Atkins and it worked for me but your chocolate diet is worth a try. I’m stocking my cupboard today. hehe!
mmmm, I must say, I enjoy this little piece of advice!
