While there is no way to completely stop the aging process, you can prevent signs of premature aging by protecting your skin using these five tips:

Avoid Sun Damage:

Stay out of the sun between 10 am and 4 pm when the sun’s rays are strongest.  Cover up with protective clothing, a wide-brimmed hat, and sunscreen with a sun protection factor of at least 15 SPF whenever you go outdoors.

Stop Smoking:

Cigarette smoking causes accelerated aging.

Avoid Facial Exercises:

If you perform facial exercises to maintain a youthful appearance, stop!  Repetitive facial movements lead to fine lines and wrinkles.

Sleep on your Back:

People who rest their face on the pillow in the same position every night create sleep lines that can lead to permanent wrinkles.  Most women sleep on their sides and usually see these lines form on their chin and cheeks.  To avoid this, use a satin pillow cover.

Eat a Nutritious Diet and be Physically Active:

Beauty starts inside.  Eating a healthy diet and leading an active lifestyle will help keep you healthy, and that will bring a healthy glow to your skin.
