LOVE this!
Launched on May 15th 2009, Yogaglo.com is the first website to enable yoga students from around the world to participate in actual classes in the comfort of their home or on the go. ![]()
Classes are offered in a variety of yoga styles including Vinyasa Flow, Anusara®, Pre and Post-natal, Ashtanga, Hatha and Meditation at differing expertise levels and durations. Multiple classes, taught by recurrent instructors, are filmed daily at the back of the Yogaglo studio evoking - for those practicing remotely- the experience of being in the actual class.
Classes are posted online regularly and available through a searchable archive feature which allows members to save classes to favorites, share classes with friends via Facebook and Twitter, view video demonstrations of poses, participate in forum discussions, and track the amount of time spent practicing. Local students can attend any regularly scheduled class at the studio and can choose to be off camera.
“I created Yogaglo based upon my personal desire to practice yoga at home, while having access to a variety of constantly new classes, taught by exceptional teachers, without having to pay $20 per class. There is a need for a more accessible, affordable yoga practice that will attract and unify students from around the world who have different experience levels and resonate with different yoga traditions.” said Derik Mills, founder of Yogaglo.
For $18 a month, students have unlimited access to all classes online and at Yogaglo’s contemporary studio space in Southern California, with 5% of profits going to each member’s choice of the company’s non-profit partners. Yogaglo also supports musicians by posting the song play list for each class with a link to the artist’s website or distributor.
Online yoga?! Something to check out for us moms who can’t afford daycare to get out to the gym. And for me any exercise is an opportunity to buy more Lululemon workout wear! Ladies? What do you think? If you try yogaglo.com out, let us know what you think.
GGS note: If you are visiting or live in the L.A. area, you can check out the Summer Kick Off Festival hosted by YogagloLA and Yoga Magazine at Santa Monica Studios (1800 Berkeley Street) on Friday, June 26th from 5pm – 10pm. There will be live music all night via DJ Drez and Hypnotic Gurus and there will be food, drinks, and other retailers there showing off their yoga and workout related products. Almost worth a road trip for this Vancouver-ite!

i’ve been a member of yogaglo for six months now and find myself doing yoga about 5-6 times a week. i love that i can just go up to my office and do yoga when my schedule permits, not just when a class is offered at a gym. and the quality of classes is amazing!
awesome website, i have a feeling i’m going to be spending WAY too much time on it though
love this post -
I always find something really groovy whenever I stop by your site! My gym has great daycare for my kids – and great yoga classes – but I’m fairly new to yoga and could use less intensity until I build up a bit more stamina. I’m definitely going to check this out – thanks!!
