GGS Feature Recipe: Blueberry Muffins

It is blueberry season in British Columbia right now. We live so close to the blueberry fields that the bang! bang! bang! of the farmers bird bombs go off at the crack o
f dawn but on the positive side there are blueberry stands everywhere! I buy blueberries at least 2-3 times per week as the whole family loves them. I remember my Granny making these delicious muffins and this year my darling daughter, Lauren made them all be herself!
Blueberry Muffins
Ingredients:
Directions:
- Heat oven to 400 degrees F (205 degrees C). Grease bottoms only of 12 muffin cups or line with baking cups.
- In a medium bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, blueberries and salt; mix well. In a small bowl, combine milk, margerine/ butter and egg; blend well. Add dry ingredients all at once; stir just until dry ingredients are moistened (batter will be lumpy.)
- Fill cups 2/3 full. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool 1 minute before removing from pan. Even better served warm with some butter!

About the Author: I am a gym junkie but always find myself looking for new ways to stay active. You can usually find me hanging with my 2 kids at the soccer field, ice rink, dance studio or swimming pool. Other than that, I am usually at my computer, watching ellen, or making some fab dish for my hubby.

I can’t wait to try this recipe with my 4 yr old. Thanks
This looks like a great recipe. I’m printing it off for my 12 year old. She loves to bake.
I love blueberries-those look too yummy and the smell of your house after making a batch!
Oh my gosh, I love blueberries! And those muffins look sooooooooo good. Great job Lauren. I not only love blueberry muffins but blueberry pancakes too. There is just something about warm blueberries that melts my heart. And the smell of blueberry bushes. You always know when your near one because it smells so good. Thanks for the wonderful recipe. I actually have blueberries in the fridge but I want to buy some more this week. They are on sale for a great price. Time to stock up and freeze some for later.
