Shape up for summer with new Skechers Shape Ups

I LOVE Skechers for casual wear (I have three pairs, all different colours that I wear with my beloved Lululemon fitness wear), so I was excited to hear about Skechers Shape Ups. This month Skechers Shape Ups have exploded into the fitness footwear market and it seems not a moment too soon with the height of summer’s holiday season just a matter of weeks away.
Shape Ups combine Skecher’s lifestyle brand of comfortable, stylish trainers with all the health benefits of barefoot walking. Utilizing a dynamic rolling bottom, soft foam insole and a dual density midsole to mimic the effects of walking on soft sand, Shape Ups shoes simulate the way we have evolved to walk -which is on a soft, uneven surface.
Skechers Shape Ups take us back to nature by making us walk the way that nature intended. So as you walk in Shape Ups, your heel sinks into the soft foam insole, before rolling forward onto the forefoot, before pushing off with the toes. This way of walking utilises more muscles in the legs, buttocks and back while employing the core muscles to stabilise your steps. This apparently results in a better workout while you walk, rapidly toning and strengthening the body for a healthier you.
Although every pair of Skechers Shape Ups comes with booklet, instruction DVD and a pair of spare laces in an alternative colour, many consumers have remained skeptical about the latest health and fitness shoe. So, an independent Skechers Shape Ups clinical study was commissioned.
Dr. Steven Gautreau D.C. of Manhattan Beach, California conducted trials at a private clinic with 10 voluntee
rs who wore Shape Ups for a period of 6 weeks, during which their body weight, body composition, glutei strength and low back endurance was measured.
The results were quite remarkable, showing an improvement in posture, weight loss, body composition and muscle strength as well as lower back endurance. The greatest single weight loss achieved was 6 pounds, with an overall average of 3.25 pounds. Meanwhile all participants in the test noticed a distinct physical change during the 6 weeks. Dr Gautreau also concluded that had the trial continued they would have enjoyed further health benefits as they continued to wear Skechers Shape Ups.

I will have to say that I was a skeptic about these shoes as well. I was originally going to get the Reebok Easytone’s until I did further research. Someone recommended the Skecher Shape Ups. So I started to do research and thought the proof is in the pudding when I go in a store and actually try them on. So I went to a Skechers store and did try them on. Simply put I was amazed. I’m overweight and I’m trying to get back in shape, because of the weight I have on my frame it is very hard for me to walk and want to stay walking. With these shoes the shock that I would normally get on my hip joints, knees, ankles, and feet are completely absored into the shoes. I felt like I was walkin on a mattress more so than sand.
They are true to size, I wear a 10 and was worried that I would look like I had boats on my feet, but to me they are super cute. I was so impressed I went home and bought 2 pair and are expecting them 2morrow. I bought one pair for work (Women’s Shape Ups – Physical) and another to workout (Women’s Shape Ups – Motivation). I’m looking forward to receiving them and can’t to give them a try.
I always thought these were too good to be true, but this article’s gotten me entrigued! I want to try them now. next giveaway perhaps?

I prefer Earth Footwear. They offer great benefits, many more styles and they don’t scream “I’m trying to tone my legs!”
My girlfriend tried these. She’s a massage therapist. She said they work great! But the downside it they are over $100…ugh
