Why is Nutrition Important? Do I need a fridge make-over!

We all know food is fuel for our bodies but, why is it so important to get all the proper vitamins and minerals that our bodies need? Well, we all want to fight off diseases/ cancer and age gracefully/ look our best. We all want our kids to grow up to be healthy and strong. So I had to ask myself, am I fueling myself and my family properly? I thought I would take a good look at the fridge to see if I could improve.
I need a fridge makeover! Help! What is wrong with this picture?
- Where is the fresh fruit?
- Full fat yogurt
- Lots of high sugar condiments (we all love our sauce)
- 2% milk
- no real juice
- iceberg lettuce is not locally grown
- cold water should be available
- margarine (it is trans fat free)
- light cream (for the coffee)
I do have:
- Chicken breast defrosting
- local spinach (even my kids love this spinach)
- low fat cottage cheese
- snap peas (the kids love them for a snack)
- real organic peanut butter

Hubby & I eat a bit differently BUT I am happy with my portion of food in the fridge. His is OK but mine is a bit cleaner!
