Susan and Erica’s Core Rhythms Update 1

Erica and I have decided to take part in this exercise program for 8 weeks.  It involves working out to the DVD “Core Rhythms Dance Exercise Program”.  Also with this program comes a 7 day diet guide and a chart to record your measurements now and again in 8 weeks.  Both Erica and I will be reporting on what we think of this program, how we are doing with it, and at the end of the 8 weeks we shall tell you how much we have lost in the way of inches and weight (hopefully)!

Susan:  I started this program two weeks ago, and I have, so far, lost 2 pounds.  I have also lost inches.  I know this because the jeans I couldn’t fit into a few weeks ago are now fitting me.  I am very pleased about that!

I try to do the video every other day. It’s the quick start program and it’s for 30 minutes. I must say I love this video; it’s a lot of fun and boy you sure can feel your abs working and your arms too.  Now the only thing is that it takes practice to get the moves down pat.  They do work on the moves fast, and I found a few times I had to stop and watch, and then try it again.  I also love how energetic the two ladies are in the video. They get you motivated.

As for the diet part of this program.  I have tried to stay with it as closely as possible, but find that it can be a bit hard to do.  I do like the fact that it gives you pointers on what to eat and what not to eat as well as a 7 day plan.

Stay tuned for next week.  I am going to try the other DVD in this program and I will let you know what I think of that one as well as report to you if I have lost more weight and inches!!core rhythms creator

Erica: Week 2 of the Core Rhythms work out was great.  The DVD is very upbeat and keeps me interested for the entire duration of the workout.  The moves are very simple to learn and I am having fun with the workout.  The only downside to the video is that the outfits are a little “disco”….however, it does keep me entertained.

I have been trying really hard to keep up with the eating plan.  I have varied the food a bit….couldn’t eat the same thing every week….boring!  So, I have added a bit of variety….mainly potatoes chips and chocolate bars…..kidding….or am I?  No, really, I have been trying to cut down on my carbohydrates and to beef up my protein and fiber intake.  I do this by starting out with low fat yogurt and a boiled egg for breakfast and for a snack I munch on plain almonds.  I try for a medium sized lunch and I definitely have eliminated carbs with my dinner.  I have even switched from coffee in the morning to green tea….which is working out well.  Of course I crave my low fat caramel macchiato from Starbucks…..however, I am dedicated to this plan and hopefully I will be able to say it’s all worth it.

So, far I have lost 2 pounds since I started.  Nothing major….but, a start to say the least.  My goal is to loose 10 pounds in total…..so only 8 more to goooooooooo.

Stay tuned until next week!
