My 10 yr old DD and I are running a 5k in 2 weeks. I ran the same one last year and I wasn't sure she was ready, but this year we've been training together. I have the same plans as you did....to alternate running and walking and being sure she has a good time. Guess we'll see if she gives me a run for my money.
