Crunch time….abdominal crunches, that is!
By Pink Panther on Sep 28, 2009 with Comments 7

Here is an interesting video clip of how to do an abdominal crunch…what do you think? What is your favorite core-strengthening exercise(s)?
But we do need to target ALL of the abdominal muscles, not just the Rectus Abdominis that the crunch works. So what’s your belly bruisin’ move, girlfriend?

I’m so boring – old fashioned situps and I do them three times a week. Then two days of push ups (enuf!) and one day off. May be time for a new routine?
Hate them all…sigh…but they are so good for us mommies. I’d have to say plank, too.
So many core exercises!!!! I like many variations of the plank, the bicycle & variations of that, flutter leg kicks for the core (on back on the floor & doing them), Swiss ball pikes, reverse planks on the Swiss ball, rope cable crunches, cable crunches but on a Swiss ball, cable leg raises.. Actually I have so many to use. I like to mix it up to keep the core guessing… like all other body parts, it gets used to what we are doing!
My favorite core move are wipers… lay on the ground and hold up a barbbell with arms extended over chest. Slowly bring your feet to one side of the bar the lower back to the middle and up to the other side…that’s one rep. It’s killer!
Truly torturous variations of the Plank are my favorite core crushers. (Well, take “favorite” loosely; more like favorite exercise to curse while performing
, but it really does a great job. I also like reverse sit ups, and leg pull-throughs.
variations on the plank definitely suck. But I think I honestly hate crunches more, they seem so never-ending.
