Imagine having your hot oatmeal all ready to go to start your busy day off right. You will not look at breakfast the same again!
I have just lately gone back to eating oatmeal because before it just took too much time to make the REAL oatmeal. This oatmeal is a huge time saver in the morning. Who does not want extra sleep? This oatmeal takes me to lunch with ease. I swear oatmeal is a lose weight secret, yet to be leaked. I have mastered this recipe after many attempts to get it to perfection! You can thank me after breakfast. Now if only I could master getting the kids and I out the door on time.
Ingredients
Directions
Just before going to bed, combine the oats and water in a slow cooker to the warm setting. Cover and let cook overnight (approx 7 hours) In the morning, stir in the salt and milk. Scoop into bowls, and sprinkle optional topping .
I have topped mine with walnuts, brown sugar, pumpkin seeds, bananas, blueberries and raisins. Yummy!
Now, go eat your oats!
1/2 cup serving is 150 calories, 2 grams fat and 4 grams fibre (without the add-ons) 2 points ww
What do you top your oatmeal with? I would love to learn to make different varations on my new found breakfast, so please share!
About the Author: I am a gym junkie but always find myself looking for new ways to stay active. You can usually find me hanging with my 2 kids at the soccer field, ice rink, dance studio or swimming pool. Other than that, I am usually at my computer, watching ellen, or making some fab dish for my hubby.

I hear that if you stir in an egg white or two before cooking it makes them super creamy! This is on my to-do list, heck, why not for tomorrow. Oh and yes, I do realize this post was two years ago….gotta love Pinterest
Yum! That sounds really good! Wondering if you would do that right before serving?? It might make the whites curdle by the morning. I love Pinterest! Making the old new again! Yeah!
Ooo. I like this one! Anything to promote me from not having to actively cook! And healthy is a bonus! (sorry, I’m a mess)
You’re really inspiring me to get back on track with WW and exercise. I’m in the midst of writing a dissertation, and it has NOT been good for my health routines. I need to read these reminders of what steps I should be taking so that I don’t completely fall off the wagon during this writing journey….
I don’t have a slow cooker but it sounds like a great idea! I love my oatmeal too & I mix in protein powder after it is cooked for my extra protein needs!
Thx!
Does this really work? I love oatmeal! I am going to try it for monday morning and let you know. I also add any nuts I have on hand, dried fruit and even added some pumpkin puree…yummy!
