Ivivva Athletica – New Lululemon Youth Store Opens in Vancouver

As announced by the company earlier this year, Lululemon has expanded to youth-wear with the November 27th opening of ivivva athletica in Vancouver, BC, Canada.

Targeting the tween market of six to twelve year olds, the new ivivva athletica line is described on company’s website as “Dance inspired clothing for girls that move.”  ivivva garments are designed for function sports such as gymnastics, dance, figure skating, field hockey, track and field and soccer. As with lululemon garments, free hemming will be offered.  The new line also sports its own distinct diamond-shaped logo instead of the readily recognizable lululemon logo, a move the company says is all about its young shoppers.

The new store is located at 2123 West Fourth Ave in Vancouver and the company website lists two other Western Canada locations, one in Victoria, BC and the other in Calgary, Alberta as the locations where ivivva athletica will be introduced as a test concept.  The website also names three female entrepreneurs, Jenny Leith, Bridey Payne and Kellie Davidson, as the heads of the ivivva athletica division, with the “support of advisors from lululemon athletica’s sr [sic] executives.”

The company reports that the ivivva athletica clothing line is priced about 30% lower than lululemon’s price point.
