MBT: The Anti Shoe Review
By Crazy Legs on Jun 11, 2010 with Comments 8
I got a new pair of MBTs* a few weeks ago and I’ve been putting them to the test in our toning shoe showdown.
The MBT’s are heavier than your regular trainer but not excessively heavy or clunky. When I first put them on, the immediate sensation is that of rocking – you need to balance yourself so you don’t rock forward or backward and you can immediately feel your muscles working to do so.
I find them very comfortable and with the number of styles and color options available, you have no excuse if you don’t pick a cute pair. For variety, I went with a black/white/pink pair called “Fora Black“. Sian was initially quite skeptical of my color choice (“Black? Really?”) but when she saw them on me she did say she was surprised that they looked good. (Thanks….I think.)
The MBTs come with a quick start guide which actually I found quite helpful (surprised). The guide explains how the various styles should fit your feet, how to wear them and how your feet should be positioned for your foot strike. Also, how to take care of them and finally, recommended exercises to get the most benefit from them. The guide is mostly graphical and takes only a minute or two to skim. I have to say that out of all the shoes I’ve ever reviewed, the MBTs come with the easiest to read and most informative material. (perhaps MBT should consider writing a quick start guide on raising children – or, if you are a new parent, just read this one)
I’ve been wearing my MBTs around town for a few weeks now and I’ve also done a lot of power walking the pup in them. While I don’t think they are going to take a person who doesn’t work out and make them fit, I definitely see and feel a difference after wearing them. Specifically, my calves, hamstrings and glutes. Also, I find that walking up hill in my MBTs gives those muscles an even better workout. Even as a regular runner, I do feel the difference and I will continue to wear them. Big ‘thumbs up’ from me on the MBT Anti Shoe – the company got them right: right product, great styles and colours, effective and measurable benefits (in my opinion) and good literature to help explain it all quickly and simply.
Bottom line: Add them as an addition to regular workouts by walking, doing the MBT recommended exercises and wear them as you run around town doing errands and you won’t be sorry.
Note: in Canada, the MBTs have even been designated a medical device by Health Canada.
Cheers,
Melanie

I walked all over Athens trying to find some cheap (50 euro or less) shoes, and all I could find were shoes for 100-500 euros! But in a online wholesale shop 5pairs just are 250 dollars. And these shoes are still the latest style! They have lots of customers. It’s a online shop from China.I just tried to order one,and they said I’ll get them soon, and I finally I really got them.Nowadays online shopping really very popular.
