kigo Shoes Review

Do you have a pair of shoes that fit in your pocket? Well, now I own a pair of shoes that actually fit in my pockets. How cool is that? These kigo Shoes ($49.99), made from eco-friendly materials, are 5oz and fold and clip and fit in very small places. I was sent a cute pair of kigo shoes in the Mary Jane style in dark grey. I have gone power walking and they felt great. Once I got over the hook at the top of the shoe, I thought these shoes looked really cute on with yoga pants, shorts or even a skirt. My kids thought they looked like elf shoes, which I have to admit, they kind of do with the toe turned up slightly. My one complaint about these shoes is that I found them hard to get on. I wished that the strap across was Velcro so I could slip them on easier. But, once they are on they were super comfortable with no breaking in period. Being from Vancouver, BC these shoes got wet but dried very quickly and had great grip so they would be great for all sorts of outdoor sports. There is really no limit to what you could use these shoes for:
- walk to work with your kigo’s than slip on your high heels
- gym classes (all types)
- running
- hiking
- all water sports-swimming, snorkeling, beach combing, kayaking
- power walks
- running errands
- great for travelling with the fold up clip, light weight nature
- after hitting the ski slopes
- the list could go on…..
I need to take these shoes to the further test and take them out on one of my runs. I saw a guy in Vancouver, BC this weekend running along the seawall in Stanley Park with no shoes. That was the first time I have ever seen this. My first thought was ‘OUCH!’ But, upon research barefoot running actually is becoming a growing trend.
Question about kigos barefoot running:
A growing number of minimalist runners have discovered kigo footwear as a great barefoot running option. The 5oz per shoe weight, breathable upper and thin, flexible out-sole combine for a comfortable, protected running shoe.
Barefoot running is a bit extreme for me, as I don’t think I would get to the end of the drive way without cutting my very soft feet. But if I used kigo shoes, I do think I could do my 5 km run.
Soooo…up next will be Vibram5 fingers vs. kigo shoes review, stimulating barefoot running. Wish me luck!
What would you use your kigo Shoes for?

About the Author: I am a gym junkie but always find myself looking for new ways to stay active. You can usually find me hanging with my 2 kids at the soccer field, ice rink, dance studio or swimming pool. Other than that, I am usually at my computer, watching ellen, or making some fab dish for my hubby.

yeah! its easy to wear and to bring shoes at all time, the kigo shoes
Looks the shoes is pretty cool…very light on foot and seems comfortable…
I was thinking about buying Vibram5 fingers for my running. I would really appreciate your review of those shoes as opposed to Kigo.
I tried barefoot running once (1 small circle around the block) and the first 200 ft felt great, however by the time I got back to my house I could hardly walk. I had horrible blisters on the soles of my feet and I had trouble walking for the next 2 days. Lesson learned: do not run barefoot if you are a fan of pedicures:-)
Great information, I just bookmarked you.

Thank you Heather for the tip! OK so maybe I shouldn’t do the full run with these on. I’ll start mile by mile…but I am excited to give it a try!
Well, with my flat, wide & bunioned feet, I don’t know if these would work for me…. I need a lot of support with these feet & older age does things to the feet too.. UGH!!! I sure wish I could wear some of these cool shoes out there!!!!
They look very cute. I love walking barefoot so I probably would just use them as my everyday shoe, instead of running shoes. They would definitely look better…
Awesome, I’m all about the barefoot running movement! Be sure if you do try and take those out for a 5k that you do it SLOWLY. Don’t go out and run 5k all in the first try. Switching from a supportive sneaker to a minimalist shoe or barefoot takes a long transition period as to avoid injury. But I totally believe in the long run, it will do nothing but help your running! Best of luck!
I don’t think I could wear NO shoes but maybe these or the 5 fingers. I have heard about the 5 finger but not these ones. I always thought the 5 fingers look odd.
I love these shoes! I have a shell pair and I wear them to my canoeing club 3x per week and they are great!
