Jockey activewear stylish and functional at a price that doesn’t break the bank

vavavoomI recently had a chance to try out a couple of pieces from Jockey’s line of activewear and boy, was I pleasantly surprised. I tested the Vavavoom sports bra ($42 online on Jockey’s website) and the cotton stretch bootleg pant ($34 online).

Vavavoom Sports Bra

I absolutely LOVE the styling of the Vavavoom sports bra.  It has a racerback design and wide straps on the front which are really comfortable. I was worried that the wider straps might look clunky but the styling on the front looks great, while still providing solid support. There are also removable padded inserts for the cups, so you can choose the amount of perkiness you’d like. ;)   It is always a challenge to find sports bras that have the perfect sports bra trifecta of: 1. proper support, 2. looking good and 3. that don’t mash the ladies flat as pancakes!

The fit also adjusts at the back which I REALLY like! You can make the band that goes around your back/ribcage tighter if you need it (in my pic, it is the bottom band on the back that adjusts).  I often have trouble with sports bras chafing at the front, under my ladies.  The fact that I can adjust the Vavavoom sports bra completely eliminated the usual chafing (yay!).

The Vavavoom sports bra also comes in white. If you are looking for a new sports bra, I have no hesitation recommending it.  My only suggestion for improvement: it would be fun to see Jockey make the sports bra in some brighter colors too.

Cotton Stretch Bootleg Pant

I also tested Jockey’s cotton stretch bootleg pant.  I’m wearing Charcoal in the pic; they also come in black.  I loved that it comes in 3 different lengths for a custom fit. So often, pants I love are too short so it was great to be able to get the length I needed.

The pants are comfortable but more importantly, flattering as well.  The pants hug the hips and thighs (but not too much! and no dreaded camel toe, thank goodness!) and then they have a gentle flare at the bottom of the leg.  I’ve worn them for workouts, yoga, errands and have even run in them (5k max for me–they started to chafe at half-hour mark).  These pants are a great light workout/ yoga option at a price point that doesn’t break the bank.
