Pregnancy is a wonderful thing and many women look forward to it most especially those who are struggling to conceive. But while pregnancy is being celebrated, not much is being said about what happens postpartum.
The thing about pregnancy is that it changes your body entirely; your breasts become sore, stretch marks come out of nowhere, you’ll see some parts of your body darken like your neck and your underarms and many more.
However, after you’ve delivered your baby most of these changes go back to normal except for your weight and that was what happened to Kassidy Linde.
Kassidy Linde lost her self-confidence when she ballooned to 260lbs while she was pregnant. In an interview with People.com she said, “I got to the point that whenever I would look in the mirror, I wasn’t able to find anything beautiful about myself.”
She adds, “That’s a devastating feeling. I have an 18-th month old daughter and I would feel terrible if she ever felt this way about herself. I wanted her to look up to me and admire me, so I changed myself.”
When Linde, 25, decided to change she turned to social media to chronicle her progress.
But it wasn’t an easy feat for Linde. She told People.com that she was ALWAYS smoking, drinking and eating out and she indulged in junk a lot.
She said she knew what she was eating wasn’t good for her and that it was unhealthy but she just couldn’t find it in her to change. There was even this one time when she went inside a fast food restaurant to order but went out to eat in the parking lot because she was ashamed of herself.
When her self-confidence plummeted she turned it into a turning point in her life. And so she focused all of her will power and energy on a year and a half fitness journey that resulted to Linde losing a total of 130lbs.

After shedding off weight, Linde decided to become a certified personal trainer to teach, inspire and motivate others to never give up.

Hydrate, Hydrate, Hydrate!
Kassidy wasn’t keen on the idea of drinking a lot of water but she stood firm and stopped making excuses for herself.
Since she started with her fitness journey she made it a point to drink a gallon of water every single day. One gallon is equivalent to 16 cups of water and she drank it every day.
Keeping your body hydrated by drinking a lot of water can help you lose weight.
A Simple Diet
Linde says she doesn’t want to label her food choices as a diet. In her post on Instagram she said, “That’s where the difference between diet and lifestyle come in.”
Linde says she eats tuna, chicken, vegetables, whole grains and fruits regularly.
Linde’s secret to success was not labeling what she ate as a diet but rather as a lifestyle because if it were a diet she would have failed but since she sees it as a lifestyle she can just easily keep going where she left off.
She says it wasn’t a smooth journey and it definitely wasn’t easy.
There were times when she cheated but she pulls herself together and just kept going. She didn’t allow a cheat day or a cheat month (yes, there were cheat months) to ruin what she started.
Don’t Count Calories
Unlike other fitness buffs, Linde doesn’t stress over counting calories and she doesn’t keep track about what she’s eating.
All she does is eat health and she only consumes the amount of food needed to make her feel full. She said, “I feel like I know what my body needs, so I eat accordingly.
Counting calories and macros would get me results quicker, but it causes me too much stress right now.”
Stick to Your Schedule
In reality, there will be moments when you don’t feel like getting up and going to the gym. But Linde says she pushes herself to her limits so she can stick to her schedule of working out five times a week.
Like everyone else, Linde isn’t superhuman and admits that she had trouble sticking with her schedule at first but eventually she picked up the pace when she saw results and the results became addicting.
Her advice is simple; if you don’t want to go, go anyway because the days that you overcame are actually the days that count the most.
