L’Andana Spa

Deep in the Tuscan countryside on the cypress fringed estate of La Badiola awaits L’Andana, a rustic yet elegant retreat with honey coloured walls and sundrenched terraces. An original Medici villa and summer sojourn for Leopold II of Lorraine, Great Duke of Tuscany, this Italian idyll, brought to fruition by chef and hotelier Alain Ducasse, is understated luxury at its best. Florentine silks flutter in the pine scented breeze whilst floors are inlaid with antique oak parquet; stone fireplaces grace the hotel’s 20 bedrooms, whilst the 13 individually designed suites are complete with Romanesque mosaic showers. Down in La Villa trattoria, dishes sing with Mediterranean flavour; try the orange flower brioche for breakfast or take part in one of the cookery courses and learn to bake it yourself. The indulgent spa is a slate floored haven of tranquillity with a mineral water pool, Turkish bath and invigorating ESPA treatments. Foodies will love the Gourmand Spa where delicate desserts and herbal teas enhance the experience.
